The city of Jiangmen, home to more than 400 overseas Chinese around the world, is sparing no effort to promote its rural tourism after service on the long-awaited Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge officially started on Oct 23.
Zhou Huihong, head of the city's Publicity Department, said Jiangmen has rich tourism resources and is expected to become a new tourist destination in the Pearl River delta, annually attracting a growing number of visitors from home and abroad, in the coming years.
"And relevant departments should redouble efforts to promote the city's rural tourism, which has great potential for future development and is an effective way to promote the city's rural economy," she said.
Zhou urged tourism administrations and travel agencies in the city to build more scenic spots with the special styles and features of Jiangmen, and introduce more tourist routes to attract visitors while advancing cooperation with more Sino-foreign travel agencies.
