Want to fully enjoy yourself at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo? Here are 10 things you should take for a carefree tour.

Maps (Expo and Shanghai)

The Expo Park is very large; a map will help guide you to your favorite pavilions. Volunteers will also be available to help. A map of Shanghai will help you find the best route back to your hotel.

Flat sandals or sneakers

These shoes are the best choices for those who want to see a lot of venues in one day. Bandages are also recommended in case your feet get blisters from the long walks.

ID

Carrying ID is most important for travelers. You will need to present it at the Expo entrance.

Water bottle

The Expo has many water fountains for free. If you prefer other beverages, there are many vending machines.

Umbrella

It is now the rainy season in Shanghai, though make sure your umbrella meets Expo requirements. Metal shaft sticks are forbidden in the Expo site.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat

It's nearly summer and the sun will blaze around noon. But be aware that lotion (or any liquid) in large quantities is forbidden in the Expo site. You will be required to present all cosmetics at the Expo entrance.

Camera

Pavilions offer tourists a huge number of amazing exhibits and performances. You can record your tour with a camera, but be aware that photography and video are forbidden at some events.

Snacks

The Expo has all kinds of restaurants. Visitors are also allowed to bring foods into the pavilions.

Eco-friendly bags

The Expo theme is "Better City, Better Life." Visitors should bear this in mind and bring eco-friendly bags to carry their souvenirs. Eco-friendly bags with Expo designs will be available at all Expo-licensed stores.
