Airline to offer phone-call service on 3 flights
Adjust font size:

Shenzhen Airlines said it will offer phone calls on three flights from Shenzhen to Beijing and Shanghai before the Beijing Olympics.

Li Kun, president of the airlines, said the company had already signed an agreement with Switzerland-based On Air to launch the business.

Shenzhen Airlines will be the first domestic airline to offer passengers a chance to make phone calls in mid flight, Xinhuanet.com reported.

The fee for calls hasn't been determined yet. The airline is working with the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China and other departments to fix prices, the report said.

It plans to offer the service on all flights next year.

Shenzhen Airlines was awarded a Five Star Diamond, the world's highest award in the service industry, in April.
