4. China Qingdao Ocean Festival 中国青岛国际海洋节

The Qingdao Ocean Festival was created in 1999 and is held in July every year to present Qingdao as a seashore tourist city. Exploring the ocean while protecting it has become a common action of the world of today and this is a focus of this festival.

Qingdao's history of some 100 years is closely related with the ocean. In 2008, it successfully hosted the Olympic sailing competition. The ocean economy and the ocean culture have become powerful driving forces of Qingdao's prosperity and development.

Its theme is "Welcome the Ocean Century with a Brighter Future". Main events include the entertainment programs at the opening ceremony, amusement activities of marine culture, marine technology activities, sea sports, ocean tourism, and tasting seafood.
