Heavy rain hits South China
Adjust font size:

Heavy rain fell over most parts of China on Tuesday, bringing transport problems in many areas. Storms in southern Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian also caused serious economic loss.

In Chaozhou city, in Guangdong province, some villages have been inundated by water, with local residents were evacuated to safe areas. Related departments also geared up for a possible dam break. In contrast, people in central Hunan province are happy with the rain, as farmers need it for irrigation.

According to weather forecasts, rain is also expected in west and northeast China. Heavy falls are predicted in coastal areas, and Guangxi may also see storms.
