More peacekeeping engineers leave for Darfur
Adjust font size:

China made a commitment in April 2007 to send a 315-man multi-functional engineering unit to Darfur at the invitation of the UN. It is the first batch of UN-AU peacekeepers in place in Darfur.

The engineers are confident about their new mission on an unfamiliar continent. But as they join the troops already in Darfur, their readiness may be tested by the hardships. And it will take all their skills and faith to help restore peace and stability in the region.
