Liu-Robles rivalry much anticipated at Olympics
Adjust font size:

The men's 110-meter hurdle race is one of the most anticipated athletics events at the upcoming Beijing Olympics. China's Liu Xiang is the defending champion. But the world record he set two years ago has been broken by one of his toughest rivals, Dayron Robles of Cuba.

Robles is attending the Paris leg of the IAAF Golden League and he says he's looking forward to the clash with Liu Xiang at the Bird's Nest.

Dayron Robles said "Regarding Liu Xiang I don't think he has any weak points. He has excellent technique and is very competitive in every aspect of the race. He's a very powerful athlete and anyone competing with him will be under great pressure. But I will be running according to my own rhythm and plan. I'm not worried about the home court atmosphere and media reports. I know the competition will be very strong as my opponent is Liu Xiang, the defending Olympic champion. I knew this 4 years ago and I have confidence in myself. "
