Nearly 500 young people from around the world took part in this special two-week camp.

For 14 days, they went on day trips to historic sites like Beijing's Forbidden City. In the evening, they gathered to watch live coverage of the Olympic Games. They cheered for great performances regardless of the athletes' origins.

The Chinese hosts also presented the young people with gifts that are much appreciated: certificates and classical Chinese seals inlaid with jade.

Olympic youth camp participant says "I am really excited to have got this certificate. It means a lot to me. "

Nevertheless, all good things come to an end. It was time for the young campers to say goodbye. But not without one last photo to remember their time together.

Another Olympic youth camp participant says "I am already missing them. It's hard to leave them, to let them go. It's hard"

They may have to leave one another after this summer camp, but the Olympic experience and their friendship is sure to stay.
