Passenger rail service through the Channel Tunnel would "very probably" resume Saturday, two days after fire closed the undersea link between Britain and mainland Europe, Eurotunnel said Friday. Duration: 01:34 [AFPTV]

Firefighters are now cooling and ventilating the tunnel to ensure flames don't re-ignite. It is still not clear when traffic in the tunnel will resume.

The fire broke out Thursday afternoon on a truck aboard a 30-car shuttle train. 14 people were injured.

French transport officials say the fire may have been accidental.

The management of the company that operates the tunnel also says there is no reason to believe the fire could have been a criminal act.
