Among the colorful stage performances over the holiday, a concert series in Beijing has stood out. Beijing's National Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a folk song expo week, bringing together folk music artists from around the world, to entertain with the music indigenous in their homeland.

Renowned folk bands from Czech Republic, UK and Romania were among the thirty folk bands from around the globe performing at the Friday's opening of Folk Music Week. They brought songs and dances of their very own, and their performances were set in scenes of the countries they came from.
