Ground-breaking technology behind China's first spacesuit
Adjust font size:

China's first spacesuit successfully fulfilled its mission in the country's historic spacewalk. But only a small part of the suit returned with the three astronauts on board the Shenzhou 7 spacecraft. The other parts have been left with the Shenzhou 7's orbital module in space for good.

Designers of China's first spacesuit describe its debut as "far better than expected".

This pair of gloves is the only part brought back to Earth. The rest of this 120-kilogram, 30-millon yuan suit was left with the Shenzhou 7's orbital module, because it was too heavy for the returning module.
