Gasoline prices fall in US may lure travelers off planes
Adjust font size:

Crude oil prices have dropped below 80 dollars a barrel amid a global sell-off. Light, sweet crude for November delivery fell as low as 77.7 dollars a barrel on Saturday on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The falling price of oil is also pushing down gasoline prices for American drivers.

In the US, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline now sits at about 3.40 US dollars, or less than 90-cents per liter.

The drop in price has caused motorists to line up at gas stations to cash in.

Some drivers in Texas even waited up to 45 minutes to fill their tanks.
