China and Pakistan have agreed to enhance cooperation and promote their strategic partnership. This comes as President Hu Jintao met with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari here in the Chinese capital on Wednesday.

Hu Jintao said that the Sino-Pakistani relationship has witnessed smooth and healthy development in the past 57 years of diplomatic ties, despite the fast-changing national and international dynamics. Hu attributed this to the political endeavors by the two sides, which he said, are based on the spirit of mutual benefits and development.

Hu Jintao noted that Pakistan is an important neighbor and cooperative partner of China, and China highly values its relations with Pakistan.
