Illustrator Quentin Blake is leading a new campaign in Britain to get more children and families interested in books, art and illustration. He was featured at the "Big Picture Party" in London to promote reading and greater involvement in artwork.
Illustrator Quentin Blake was guest of honor at the British Library for the launch the Big Picture Party. The event is part of the Family Learning Festival highlighting the important role family life plays in getting children to understand the world they live in.
Thousand of parents and children turned up for the free event. They can see and learn about the importance of books and how illustration brings the words and stories to life. To mark his contribution to this field, Blake was given the J.M. Barrie Award for his illustrations of children's stories.
