Financial crisis hits Yiwu commodity markets
Adjust font size:

Hit by the global financial crisis, a lot of purchasers from America and Europe have left the Yiwu International Commodity Market, a so-called "World Supermarket" in Zhejiang province. Yiwu is experiencing hard times, but, fresh faces from Africa, Latin America, India and Russia are giving a boost to the market.

This German purchaser has been living in Yiwu city for five years. He has spent three hours a day shopping at the Yiwu market during that time, selling "Made in China" clothing to Europe. But this year, the number of visitors to the market has fallen drastically.
