Van Fan

Fan is an Ami, one of the ethnic minorities in Taiwan.

He says he had no special feeling for music until he took up guitar in college. He then started to look for performing opportunities.

But his playing skills were unremarkable, so Fan concentrated on his vocals.

He took part in the local college music competition twice, and managed to finish in the Top 4. But most of his talent went into performing in pubs.

In 2001, Fan was discovered by Max Lee, a Taiwan music producer.

He released his debut album in 2002 and had hits with "I Believe", the theme song of the popular South Korean romance film "My Sassy Girl", and "Piano", the theme song of the TV series of the same name, also from South Korea.
