The two hour film is interwoven with three major storylines. But the happy ending of the three couples in the movie won't make every theater-goer happy. Some movie buffs say although the story is fine, it's too good to be true as the relationship rifts are so deep, reflecting their social statuses.

However, it's still a perfectly sweet love story.

Director Andrew Lau pays close attention to the lighting effects and creates a festive atmosphere for the new year movie season. The dance scenes by Shu Qi also add luster to the film.

Shu Qi steals much of the attention. Director Andrew Lau says he knows Shu better than Feng Xiaogang, so he's capable of bringing out the best in her.
