The eastern city of Hangzhou is hosting an International Cartoon and Animation Festival. The event features an expo, forum, competition and cultural activities.

More than 300 companies and organizations from 14 countries and regions are taking part. The exhibition area covers more than 60-thousand square meters.

Exhibits include cartoon productions, books, audio and video works and tie-in products.

1,500 entries are vying for the "Monkey King" Award, the most coveted trophy of the cartoon industry. The entries are by cartoon buffs and professionals from 25 countries and regions around the world.
