Chinese, US presidents talk over phone

Chinese President Hu Jintao and his US counterpart, Barack Obama, have spoken by phone. Hu Jintao expressed condolences to the regions and people in the US affected by the A/H1N1 flu. He said the Chinese government has started emergency measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

Obama said the US has also adopted effective measures and will continue to monitor the outbreak. The two leaders also reached consensus regarding China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues, joint efforts to tackle the international financial crisis, and enhanced coordination and cooperation on major global and regional issues.
