Top musicians in Sichuan and Chongqing have staged a concert at the Donghekou Earthquake Park, to mark the first anniversary of the catastrophe.

Monday's show opened at central square with the solemn melody of Mozart's Requiem. Both the village's residents and people from surrounding towns were in the audience. Qinghekou village was one of the worst-hit localities during the Earthquake. Nearly 800 villagers were buried in the landslide triggered by the tremors. The performers are from the Sichuan and Sichuan Musicians Associations. They hope to inspire and strengthen hope in the local people.
