Shanghai on Wednesday started to remove the toppled No. 7 building in the Lotus Riverside complex, and the removing work will take approximately a week.

Shanghai Construction Group moved in the construction site Wednesday to remove the collapsed building, and it will also undertake the rebuilding project.
According to arrangements released by an investigation team, the Shanghai government will readjust the layout of the collapsed building, increase its auxiliary facilities and grassland, and reduce the building density.
The 13-storey building at the Lotus Riverside complex in Minhang District toppled June 27, killing one worker who had gone into the building to fetch his tools.
So far, 13 people are facing trial in relation to the toppled apartment building, according to the city's director of the Administration of Work Safety. 6 development company executives have been detained and charged with causing the incident, while 7 others are out on bail awaiting trial.
An investigation found the developer, construction company, supervisors and safety watchdog were all responsible for the building's collapse.
