The star-studded ensemble of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" have been assigned to 6 cities around the world as part of a huge promotional campaign for the film. Beijing has been blessed with the likes of Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage and Fan Bingbing. |
"I am really excited because I'm a new member of the film. The character Blink is actually the most classic heroine for fans of the comic series. She used to be a foreigner, but now with this film she has a Chinese face. I really hope Chinese audiences will support the film and help the character continue on in the series," said Fan Bingbing, actress of "X-Men: Days of Future Past".
Hugh Jackman wears a bandage on his nose after having had a basal cell carcinoma removed last week. But he seems less concerned about the bandage, and more about the film's reception with Chinese moviegoers, an increasingly important market for Hollywood.
"You know, I have a feeling that the fans, the X-Men fans, are just going to really love it. I think it's one of my favorite of all the movies. There's a lot in there for fans, but if you've never seen an X-Men movie, do not worry, because this movie will not exclude you, it's really great for everybody. It's funny, it's smart, it's emotional, and I got goose bumps a lot. So I think you're going to really like it. I hope so. Please," said Hugh Jackman.
In the new film Jackman, who has appeared in every "X-Men" movie over 14 years, travels back to 1973 to save humans and mutants from destruction. It has an all-star cast, including original X-Men alumni Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and director Bryan Singer.
"Bryan (Singer) who directed the first and the second has come back and it just feels like a fresh beginning. I mean, it's the biggest of all the movies, it's part-time travel movie, and it reunites all the original X-Men with all the X-Men from 'First Class,' so it's kind of the most amazing acting ensemble. It's typical Bryan and yet more than I've ever seen Bryan in this series of being funny and emotional, character-driven, with just spectacular action sequences and special effects," said Hugh Jackman.
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will open in China and the United States on May 23rd.
It is the seventh film in the mutant superhero blockbuster franchise, which has grossed 2.3 billion US Dollars worldwide.
