America's favorite cartoon family, The Simpsons, is also the longest-running animated series in TV history. The popular characters already have their own ride at Universal Studios Hollywood, but now, the Southern California theme park is putting the finishing touches together on an exact replica of the town of Springfield, the home of the Simpsons family.

The Simpsons are coming! To Universal Studios Hollywood, that is. With 31 Emmy Awards and currently in its 26th season, the Simpsons is a series that centers on a regular family living in the fictional town of Springfield. Through its long history, fans have entered the Simpsons universe, becoming familiar with the family's shenanigans and the population of funny and unique characters.

As Bart Simpson himself would say, Don't have a cow, man! The fictional town of Springfield has officially become a real world. Filled with iconic landmarks of the city, this authentic replica features everything from themed food and gift shops to an exciting indoor ride and games.

The overarching "Springfield" sign looks over the town, along with popular store fronts and the nuclear power plant where Homer Simpson works.

Springfield definitely wasn't built in a day, though. According to the project director and executive show producer for Springfield, Jon Corfino, it took a year of design and 14 months to construct it.
