How long is the project? Its central route is 1,432 kilometers and its eastern route 1,466.5 kilometers. The total length of the first phase of the central and eastern routes is 2,899 kilometers.
The project passes through mountains and seas, runs across residential districts, allowing the Yangtze River to shake hands with the Yellow River and embrace Huaihe River and Haihe River.
The project diverted as much water as in 1,800 West Lakes, and benefited over 100 million residents in over 100 cities including Beijing, Jinan and Qingdao.
Tens of thousands of constructors spent over 10 years on the project. With glory in plainness, the arduous project claims many world records.
