A suicide bomber Thursday killed at least ten people in an attack on a police station in the Pakistani northwestern Kohat district, police said.

A police officer Habib Khan told reporters that the bomber rammed his explosives-filled car into a police station.

He said that police and civilians are included in those killed in the attack.

Officials said that around 20 people were injured in the attack.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack but the police blamed Taliban militants for the attack.

The Pakistani Taliban have carried out series of attack s on security forces across the country to avenge the killing of Baitullah Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone attack in South Waziristan on Aug. 5.

Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the bomb blast in Kohat, the Prime Minister office said.

He ordered immediate provision of best medical facilities to the injured. He also ordered enquiry into the incident.
