Chinese President Hu Jintao left Beijing Tuesday to pay state visits to Malaysia and Singapore and attend an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

Hu would visit Malaysia and Singapore from Nov. 10 to 13 at the invitations of Malaysian Supreme Head of State Mizan Zainal Abidin and Singaporean President S. R. Natha respectively.

At the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Hu would attend the 17th APEC economic leaders meeting set for Nov. 14 and 15 in Singapore.

During the summit, Hu will explain China's opinions on the battle against the international financial crisis and the global economic recovery, China's position on challenges of climate change, food and energy safety and China's view on APEC's future development, Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei said last week.
