Honduran de facto leader Roberto Micheletti reiterated on Monday that ousted President Manuel Zelaya can leave the country whenever he wants, but as a political refugee.

"As long as he (Zelaya) leaves (the country) as refugee there is no any problem," Micheletti told reporters.

Micheletti added that "I do not think there is an obstacle for Mr. Zelaya to leave for any country in the world, except any country of Central America."

Zelaya, who was forced to exile in Costa Rica following the June 28 coup, sneaked back into Honduras in late September and has been taking refuge in the Brazilian embassy.

Micheletti also reaffirmed that his term will finish on Jan. 27, 2010, and that he will attend the sworn-in ceremony of the president-elect if invited.

President-elect Porfirio Lobo said on Monday that the best solution for Honduras would be the resignation of Micheletti, which is the only way for the international community to open its door for Honduras as most countries refuse to recognize Micheletti's government.
