Chinese FM to attend meetings on Afghanistan issue

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will attend a regional summit on Afghanistan issue slated for Jan. 26 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Yang will attend the meeting as a special representative of President Hu Jintao, announced Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu here Thursday at a regular press conference.
Yang will pay also official visits to Turkey, Cyprus and France from Jan. 25 to Feb. 6, Ma said.
He will also attend an international meeting on Afghanistan issue in London on Jan. 28, and a meeting on security policy in Germany's Munich from Feb. 5 to 7, according to the spokesman.
