The Swedish Maritime Administration said the ferry Amorella, with 753 passengers and 190 crew members aboard, was stuck at the edge of an archipelago northeast of Stockholm.

Ice breakers were trying to free the ferry and dozens of other ships stranded in the area while helicopters were ready to evacuate passengers if needed.
