Protestors broke into and seized the government buildings of the northern regions of Naryn and Chui Wednesday amid nationwide opposition protests in Kyrgyzstan, witnesses told Xinhua.

In the regional capital of Naryn, protestors drove out Naryn governor Almazbek Akmataliev and declared an opposition leader "people's governor."

Protestors later tried to storm into the regional interior ministry's building, but did not succeed. About 3,000 opposition protestors gathered at a central square in Naryn, the regional capital city.

In the Chui region, protestors seized the buildings of the regional government and the municipal government of the regional capital Tokamak.
