15 Palestinians were injured in airstrikes carried out by Israeli jets on the Gaza Strip at midnight on Tuesday, according to Hamas medical and police sources.

Witnesses said Israeli war jets struck the inoperative Gaza airport southeast of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, wounding 4 Palestinians.

After a while, the Israeli war jets attacked the site of al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Hamas movement in the town of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, wounding 11 Palestinians. The witnesses said the site is near a sport club and a mosque in the center of the town.

The Hamas medical sources said that all the wounded Palestinians are civilians.

A spokesman of the Israeli army confirmed the airstrikes, without explaining further details.

The Israeli air attack on the area was an Israeli response to the earlier homemade projectiles fired from the Gaza Strip at southern Israel. No one claimed responsibility for the earlier attacks from Gaza at Israel.
