Air strikes kill 25 in NW Pakistan

At least 25 militants were killed and several others injured as Pakistani security forces jets bombed insurgents hideouts in the country's northwest tribal area on Thursday, local TV channel reported.

Four hideouts of militants were targetted in Upper Orakzai, according to the private TV Express.

Operation against militants has been going on for the last few months and more than 800 militants were killed in the offensive.

Meanwhile, at least four militants were killed and two others injured in a clash with Pakistani security forces in Tehsil Jamrud of the restive Khyber Agency on Thursday, local media reported quoting official sources.

The clash occured when militants attacked a security checkpoint in the insurgency plagued area bordering Afghanistan.
