Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) announced Wednesday that it plans to organize totally 38 overseas roadshow programs to promote investment in Thailand, the NBT television reported.

The roadshow programs will be organized in 25 countries around the world, including the U.S., Japan, United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden, BOI secretary-general Atchaka Sribunruang said.

The roadshow programs will be organized during June until September, the BOI secretary-general said.

Thailand's investment situation is believed to remain attractive among the ASEAN group as the country ranked second after Singapore,in terms of investment attraction.

On May 19, Industry Minister Charnchai Chairungrueng said Thailand is still confident to receive new investment requests from companies worth 500 billion baht (15.337 billion U.S. dollars) for 2010.

The planned overseas roadshow is announced after Thailand's image was largely marred by the recent violence.
