Thai court to extend detention of 3 anti-gov't leaders

Thailand's Criminal Court on Wednesday approved a police request to keep three core leaders of the anti-government group in detention for seven more days, the Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
The three core leaders of the anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) who will be held in detention for seven more days from June 10 to June are Veera Musikhapong, Weng Tojirakarn, and Korkaew Pikulthong.
They have been held at the Naresuan Police Border Patrol Camp at resort town Cha-Am in central Phetchaburi province on charges of violating the emergency decree in connection with the UDD rallies from March 12 to May 19.
The anti-government protestors had staged the rallies in central Bangkok since March 12 and dispersed on May 19, leaving huge losses and damages to the country. The three core leaders surrendered to police on May 20.
Police told the court they have needed more time to complete their investigations concerned with the three anti-government core leaders.
