Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Thursday acknowledged the stance taken by Turkey, Brazil and Lebanon regarding the UN Security Council's sanction resolution against Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Mehmanparast said the approach of the three countries is an indication of new developments at the international arena, the report said.

Independent and important countries such as Iran, Turkey, Brazil and several other states have paved the way for establishment of new atmosphere in the world, the spokesman was quoted as saying.

He added that the new development is replacing the current unfair status in the world with the fair and respectful approaches.

The UN Security Council Wednesday adopted a resolution to impose a fourth round of sanctions against Iran over its suspected nuclear program.

The resolution was approved by the 15-member Council with a vote of 12 in favor. Brazil and Turkey voted against it while Lebanon abstained.
