18 killed, injured in Pakistan car bomb

At least 18 security personnel were killed or injured in a suicide car bomb which blasted early Monday morning at an army camp in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan, according to local media reports.

According to the reports, the blast took place when a person sitting in a car detonated the explosives strapped on his body when trying to enter an army camp in Lower Dir district in northwest Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

At least one security personnel was killed on the spot and 17 others injured had been rushed to a hospital. Many of the wounded were said to be in critical condition.

Curfew has been imposed in the area and a search operation is now under way.
