Airstrike kills 18 militants in NW Pakistan

At least 18 militants were killed and another 10 injured Wednesday during a continued operation by Pakistan army in the northwestern tribal region of Pakistan, reported local media.

According to reports, Pakistan army conducted an airstrike against militants in Kurram agency, a tribal region bordering Hangu district in the northwestern province Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistani army helicopters also took part in the operation shelling and destroying the hideouts of the miscreants. According to sources, Pakistani army cordoned off the area and started search operation.

In recent weeks, Pakistani army is busy in rescue and relief work in the country's worst-ever floods which so far has killed 1, 540 people and left 20 million people homeless.
