One by one, 61 Romanians of the Roma ethnic group deported by French authorities came out of the airport, carrying little luggage. They were met by relatives and representatives of the Roma Party.

Most of the returnees refused to comment and appeared rather aggressive, and only a few agreed to talk about their experiences in France and plans for the future.

"I'll definitely go back to France, because we Roma people have nothing to do here in Romania and I have nothing to offer to my three children here," said Adrian Paraipan, a 37-year-old man.

He said he lived there in a camp with no hygienic conditions, but he would rather go back to France. He added that the French authorities treated them well during the repatriation procedure, but he felt "forced" to return to Romania.

A young smiling woman, wearing fine clothes and golden jewels, said during her one and a half years in France, she had food, sweets for her children and clothes and she could make money.

She added that she enjoyed the life in France very much and she would go back to France any time because "it is worth."
