Israel will make more efforts to upgrade trade relations with China, its second largest trading partner after the U.S., said Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor, at a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

China, with its rapidly growing economy, can benefit from Israeli technology, Ben-Eliezer said. Next month, Israel will begin to help Tianjin install state-of-the-art water technology that will introduce irrigation, water management, water treatment and water recycling to the city.

Ben-Eliezer arrived in China two days ago to attend the Digital Life Design Conference in Beijing and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin. Later, he will visit Shenzhen, a major economic development zone in south China whose high-tech exports account for about 50 percent of the national total.
