The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has labeled the final report of the South Korea's investigation into the sinking of its warship, the Cheonan, as provocation.

The official news agency KCNA reported Wednesday that the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea published a bulletin, saying the South Korean report was a death struggle to save its diplomatic failure on the event, block the rising voice for improving north-south relations and escape from the domestic and overseas political crisis.

The bulletin said, if South Korea continued its confrontational position, the impudence of its political system would be more clearly disclosed, adding that South Korea should abandon its plot as soon as possible.

The South Korean Defense Ministry on Monday issued its final report on the investigation, which reaffirmed its original finding, released on May 20, that claimed the ship had been hit by a DPRK torpedo.

The Cheonan sank on March 26 with 104 crew members aboard near the maritime border with the DPRK after an unexplained explosion.

A spokesman from the DPRK National Defense Commission issued a statement on May 20, rejecting the claim and requesting to send a DPRK inspection group to South Korea to verify material evidence.
