The death toll caused by continuous heavy rain and massive flood in central Vietnam has risen to 31, the Vietnam News reported Tuesday.
According to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control, 13 victims are in Ha Tinh province, 12 in Nghe An, five in Quang Binh and one in Thua Thien-Hue province.
A bus carrying 37 passengers was washed away in heavy flood waters on Monday. While 17 have been rescued, the other 20 are still missing.
Floods have submerged more than 152,000 houses in central Vietnam.
The National Hydro-meteorological Forecast Center has issued a flood and landslide warning to residents in the central provinces.
