China, Hungary pledge to enhance bilateral ties

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met here Sunday with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and both sides vowed to enhance their bilateral relations.

Wen said the China-Hungary relations have stood the test and developed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic ties.

China will make joint efforts with Hungary to promote the bilateral trade in a balanced and sustainable manner and enhance exchanges and friendship so as to turn on a new page in bilateral relations, Wen said.

Orban is here for the opening ceremony of the World Expo Summit Forum and the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo.

He said Hungary has always adhered to the one-China policy and is willing to increase political mutual trust, expand trade and economic cooperation, strengthen cultural exchanges with China so as to push forward the Hungary-China and Europe-China relations.
