10 foreign tourists dead in Vietnam boat sinking

Ten missing foreign tourists after the Vietnam's cruise ship sinking were found dead, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Thursday.

At 11:45 am on Thursday, the rescue team found 12 bodies, ten of which were foreign tourists.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Van Doc said that it is necessary to clarify the cause of the accident and to prosecute those who took responsibility.

Vietnam's cruise ship named Truong Hai 06 QN 5198 carrying 21 tourists and six crew sank in the region of Vietnam's northeast province of Quang Ninh on Thursday morning.

All the six crew were rescued in the accident. Of the total 21 tourists on board, there were two Vietnamese, 19 foreigners including two Russians, one English, two Danish, one German, two Italians, three Americans, one Japanese, one Australian, two French, two Swedish and two Swiss.

Quang Ninh province is going to coordinate with other agencies to carry out related legal procedures, according to the report.
