China and Poland pledged Friday to boost military ties as defense officials of the two countries met in Beijing.

China attaches importance to the Sino-Polish friendly partnership of cooperation and is ready to deepen mutual trust and expand exchanges and cooperation with Poland, said Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army.

The Chinese general hailed the maturing dialogue mechanism between the two countries when he met with a Polish delegation headed by Jerzy Niemc, director of the Military Foreign Affairs Department.

The dialogue mechanism "has become a good channel for the two sides to exchange views frankly, reach consensus and boost cooperation," Ma said.

"The Chinese side is willing to work with the Polish side to explore new forms and means of exchanges and cooperation, with a view to advancing the bilateral military ties in a sound and sustained way," he added.

Niemc echoed Ma's remarks on the military ties between the two countries and vowed to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to boost bilateral military cooperation.
