Turkey has evacuated more than 8, 000 nationals from violence-scarred Libya via sea, air and land routes, the country's Prime Ministry said Friday.

Altogether 8,360 people have been moved out of the North African country on two ships and 26 planes, including four military airplanes which landed in Turkey with more than 400 Turks on Friday morning, the ministry said in a note on its website.

The government will send another 12 planes, including eight military aircrafts, to Libya on Friday, said the ministry.

It said a military ship with a capacity of 1,500 passengers will leave Libyan city Benghazi this noon for Turkey, while two other ships are on the way to Libya for more evacuation.

Turkey is carrying out its largest evacuation effort in Libya, with some 25,000-30,000 nationals working or living in the North African country.

More than 200 Turkish firms are operating for projects worth around 15 billion U.S. dollars in Libya, most of them construction projects.
