Ecuadorian military honors Chinese aid workers

Ecuador's military Friday conferred its highest honor on four Chinese medical aid workers, recognizing their great contribution to Ecuador-China friendship.
He Fei, Hu Xijun, Zhang Guolong and Zhang Xudong received "The Star of the Armed Forces" medals from Patricio Cardenas, general commander of the army, at a grand ceremony held here at a military university.
On the high ceremonial occasion, Leonidas Enriquez, director of the general hospital of the Ecuadorian military, praised the dedication and professionalism of the Chinese medical aid team, whose one-year mission expires on April 28.
Their noble performance has not only gained them a high reputation among the Ecuadorian people, but also contributed greatly to the friendly ties between the two countries and militaries, he said.
For his part, Hu, head of the Chinese medical aid team, said that the unit has earnestly carried out its mission and is committed to providing the best possible medical service.
Chinese Ambassador Yuan Guisen and dozens of Chinese diplomats and Ecuadorian generals were among the attendants at the medal presentation ceremony.
