House Speaker Chai Chidchob said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has submitted request for House dissolution to HM the King for royal endorsement.

Chai said that Abhisit informed him that the decree was submitted for HM the King on Tuesday, The Nation online reported. However, It could not be known when the decree is approved, Chai said.

Abhisit has earlier announced that he would dissolve the House of Representatives within the first week of May to allow for the general election to be held in June or July.
