Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met on Wednesday with Ben Bernanke, chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Wang said that the third meeting of the China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue had ended with fruitful outcomes. It proved again that China-U.S. economic cooperation benefits both countries and the world as well. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the U.S. in the fields of economy and trade, investment, finance and infrastructure.

He noted that the two sides need to "depoliticize" economic issues, or they will miss the great opportunity in bilateral economic cooperation.

Wang said to ensure a strong recovery of the global economy remains the top priority. While China and the U.S. must strengthen their cooperation within the framework of G20 to keep the recovery on track, he said the two countries also need to gradually advance the reform of international economic rules and norms and increase the voice and representation of emerging markets and developing countries.

Bernanke said the global economy is now recovering on two tracts, and that recovery is unbalanced between advanced economies and emerging markets. He stressed that enhanced cooperation between the U.S. and China is critical to the steady recovery of the global economy.
