China, EU parties look to boost cooperation

Day two of the second China-Europe High-Level Political Party Forum focused on strengthening economic cooperation.

"China-Europe cooperation is strengthening, the two sides are more and more dependent on each other, and are constantly looking for new opportunities to cooperate, learn from each other and build mutual respect," CPC International Department spokesman Huang Huaguang said.

The discussions centered on China's 12th Five-Year Plan and Europe's 2020 Strategy. China hopes to strengthen economic links on the basis of the European 2020 Strategy, while the EU side raised the issue of technological innovation in China.

There were detailed talks on education policy, technology, environmental protection and employment. The grounds covered included mutual recognition of university degrees, investment in high technology, strengthening technology cooperation between small and medium enterprises, the future of electric automobiles and smart grids.
