The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a reception on Friday afternoon to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

Chen Haosu, the CPAFFC chairman, said Sino-Russian relations have reached an all-time high since the signing of the treaty.

The treaty has become more and more vigorous as time has gone by, he said.

Chen also pledged to cherish the achievements made thus far in Sino-Russian relations and make efforts to boost bilateral people-to-people contacts.

Russian Ambassador to China Sergei Razov said the treaty set a solid foundation for the development of bilateral ties and became a role model for neighboring countries and major countries in developing their ties.

The reception gathered nearly 200 representatives from the two countries, including Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo.

Before the reception, representatives viewed a photo exhibition displaying the accomplishments made in bilateral relations over the last 10 years.

Two-way trade between China and Russia has increased from some 8 billion U.S. dollars in 2000 to nearly 60 billion dollars in 2010.

The China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation was signed in Moscow on July 16, 2001.
